Travis Scott Sued over “Highest In The Room” LATEST HIP HOP NEWS AND RUMOURS

Travis Scott has been sued over unauthorized production of his single “Highest In The Room”.
A Danish producer Benjamin Lasnier claims that a guitar recording, that he posted on Instagram is used without permission. It was an essential factor in the song, making it a hit.
The song was released last October and it reached on number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Lasnier claims after he posted his guitar melody on Instagram, a person who works with Travis Scott named Jamie Lepr, took a beat pack from Lasnier prior to the single’s release.

However, the lawsuit is filed in L.A. Federal Court on Tuesday. The lawsuit claims that the pack included a track called “Cartier” which had a specific melody. When the “Highest In The Room” was released the melody was too similar to that one in “Cartier”.

In addition, they are asking for damages and their share of royalties from the earnings of the track which they estimate has already done $20 million and above. The three songwriters are asking a judge to rule that Travis and the others admit they infringed on their work.
Lasnier also produced for artists such as Trippe Redd, Desiigner, and Don Toliver.
