When we hear the word, Hip Hop the first thing that comes in our minds is rapping. However, the term hip-hop has much more versatility. It is a culture a music genre and fashion.
The genre hits back from 1980’sfrom Bronx, New York and the ever since the culture has been growing. Between mid 80’s and 90’s Hip Hop genre took off so well that it was known as the Golden Age of that time.
The four key elements of hip hop are rapping, DJing, making music in DJ mixers and beatboxing. The street style rap was widely popular among the people; and eventually the rap started to make its way above in the industry. People started getting more involved and creative with their rap and making music approach.
In addition, 90’s Hip Hop was revolutionary in the music industry; the genre was spreading worldwide and the music, rap getting innovative. Till this date 90’s rappers are known as one of a kind. And most influential and most impactful artists rap has ever produced.
Moreover, some of the greatest hit from the 90’s is Party Up by DMX, Still a G Thang by Snoop Dogg. Also 2pac ‘California Love’ also the Notorious B.I.G ‘Hypnotize’. These are just a few in record there is more in the hits pile.
Also, Hip Hop culture has always been in media coverage; and for the longest time BET was the only television to cover the hip hop culture in the industry. Eventually channels like VH1 and MTV caught up and started playing from their hip hop playlist. And DMC was the first African American group to appear in tv. As the development of generation, the internet began to share enormous amount of hip hop content. Which reached more people worldwide.
Although, Hip Hop culture came a long way through their music, fashion among people. In present time most of the top charts are taken by talented hip hop artist; and more are rising with time but the 90’s period will forever be in our hearts.
